What: TO ATTEND A SKYPE SESSION WITH DR. WILLIAM S. LYON, author of SPIRIT TALKERS: NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN MEDICINE POWERS (2012)
Why: William Lyon’s book is the product of his work with First Nations elders including Wallace Black Elk, Archie Lame Deer, Rolling Thunder, and Thomas Banyacya over the past 40 years. His publications include Encyclopedia of Native American Healing (1996) and Native American Shamanism (1998). His latest book Spirit Talkers has created controversy as it documents and argues that medicine powers are real, and explains how they work and why they are difficult to understand.
