I am a 3^rd year INCA/pre journalism student at the University of Regina. I am from a farm by White Fox, Saskatchewan. I started to be interested in journalism in grade 11 and began to explore the industry with writing articles for my local newspaper. Once I got into University I started exploring it more with job shadowing at CTV Regina, The Star phoenix, and CBC Saskatoon. I wrote an article for a local magazine in the summer of 2012 and then began writing articles for the Carillon in my 2^nd year of pre-journalism. I am now attending the INCA program at the First Nations University.

The Summer Institute (INCA 200) is a core-required course in the INCA program, and is a 6-credit-hour course.

It is only offered in the summer—the course dates for 2016 are Monday, May 9 to Friday, June 24, 2016. The course times are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

You can also register in the INCA Internship (INCA 290) from July 4 to the end of August. The Internship is also 6-credit-hours, so you can complete 12-credit-hours over the course of the Spring/Summer semester. (For the purpose of student loans and some band funding programs, registering in 12 credit hours makes you eligible for funding–but check with your funder. INCA 200 and 290 are open to all students who are eligible to register at the University of Regina–especially Film and pre-Journalism students, for whom INCA 200 is recommended by their programs.
