Simon Moccasin

Tansi, my name is Simon Moccasin. I am from Nakawina, (Saulteaux) First Nations in Saskatchewan. I am an Education alumni of First Nations University returning to the INCA program. I find that some of my earlier life’s work, for example, storytelling, acting and writing is transferable into my next life’s chapter of finding and stories and reporting them in any capacity. It is with the hopes of gaining this valuable training that I can utilize these new skills into creating social change for Aboriginal people. Ekosi.

The Summer Institute (INCA 200) is a core-required course in the INCA program, and is a 6-credit-hour course.

It is only offered in the summer—the course dates for 2016 are Monday, May 9 to Friday, June 24, 2016. The course times are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

You can also register in the INCA Internship (INCA 290) from July 4 to the end of August. The Internship is also 6-credit-hours, so you can complete 12-credit-hours over the course of the Spring/Summer semester. (For the purpose of student loans and some band funding programs, registering in 12 credit hours makes you eligible for funding–but check with your funder. INCA 200 and 290 are open to all students who are eligible to register at the University of Regina–especially Film and pre-Journalism students, for whom INCA 200 is recommended by their programs.
