Incoming 2014/15

The next INCA Summer Institute in Journalism will be held in May-June 2015. Exact dates for spring/summer 2015 are not out yet, but the term we use is usually from the first week of May until National Aboriginal Day on June 21.

The INCA Summer Institute is open to all INCA students, pre-Journalism students and Film students from the U of R, casual students (means you only takeINCA 200) from all over Canada, and pretty much anyone who wants a crash course in all forms of journalism.

The Summer Institute (INCA 200) is a core-required course in the INCA program, and is a 6-credit-hour course.

It is only offered in the summer—the course dates for 2016 are Monday, May 9 to Friday, June 24, 2016. The course times are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

You can also register in the INCA Internship (INCA 290) from July 4 to the end of August. The Internship is also 6-credit-hours, so you can complete 12-credit-hours over the course of the Spring/Summer semester. (For the purpose of student loans and some band funding programs, registering in 12 credit hours makes you eligible for funding–but check with your funder. INCA 200 and 290 are open to all students who are eligible to register at the University of Regina–especially Film and pre-Journalism students, for whom INCA 200 is recommended by their programs.
