The  INCA Summer Institute will be held Monday, May 9 to Wednesday, June 22, 2016.  We will probably use the end of the week, Thursday and Friday, June 23 and 24 to firm up details of your internship (if necessary) and/or provide you with professional development feedback.

The class schedule is Monday to Friday 10-12 and 1-4.  Attendance is absolutely required. If you are worried that you won’t be able to attend every single hour of every single day, you should wait and register in 2018.

Category registration starts in early March, but I think many of you will have to wait for Open Registration, which starts in early April.  Not to worry…if you receive this email, you are on my list and there is a seat with your name on it for the Institute.

If you have any questions, or you need funding letters, or help finding accommodation, or anything else, don’t hesitate to contact me by email or text/call my cell 306-536-8069.

I am looking forward to working with all of you. I will send you a draft of our course plan when it gets approved.  Tentatively, we are in discussion with CTV to have you produce an episode of Indigenous Circle, and a one-hour radio special for MBC, and freelance articles for various publications, and work together to produce an interactive news website that will rival New York Times!  Don’t be nervous—you will have as much help and support as you need from the best instructors and mentors.

Check out some of the work student have done in past years in the INCA Projects section of this website.

The Summer Institute is a life-changing experience. You will meet dozens of professional journalists, and become part of the INCA Empire—a community of hundreds of journalists and communicators dedicated to supporting each other and changing the world, one newsroom at a time!
