In 1999, INCA and our International Studies department, led by Del Anaquod, received funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to bring 10 Aboriginal journalists from across Canada to Regina to receive training in international issues and television production. The trainers were Marjorie Beaucage and Felix Atencio Gonzales.
Following the training segment of the project, the participants travelled to Seattle, Washington for the Unity ’99 conference that brought together Hispanic, Black, Asian and Native American journalists for a week.
